Who Am I?

This blog is crafty in nature focusing on knitting and crochet but I can never be narrow minded.

So who am I?

My name is Marcie and I'm addicting to knitting. I haven't been knitting for very long but I've grown some big yarn balls. I'll try any pattern once!

Just over one year ago I was put on 10 weeks of bed rest for complications with pregnancy. During that time, I taught myself to knit by watching youtube videos and referencing knittinghelp. My daughter was born prematurely at 29 weeks gestation and spent 72 days in NICU. I knitted her hats whenever I was not with her at the hospital and taking care of my 18 month old son. Those hats were symbolic of not only my daughters growth (she outgrew one nearly every week) but of my growth as well. Knitting stitches helped me keep it together during those excruciating days and I knitted like it was saving all of our lives. In April 2010, my daughter came home completely healthy and soon life was business as usual but I kept knitting. Since then I have knitted, crocheted, or hand crafted over 30 projects for friends and family. I'm now writing my own patterns and getting even more adventurous so I thought this would be a cool place to gather patterns and inspiration....watch the yarn balls grow or unravel or whatever.

Here are some pics of my first projects for my daughter-
